TEMPORARY CLOSURE 3/225 ARLINGHAM ROAD (ARLINGHAM AND FRETHERNE WITH SAUL PARISHES) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council has made an order under the Road Traffic

Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 3/225

Arlingham Road from its junction with Overton Lane to its junction with

Fretherne Lane for a distance of approximately 845 metres.

The reason for the closure is for a new water connection

The road is expected to be closed from 26th May 2020 until the

28th May 2020 or until the works have been completed. For further

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTIONS OF VARIOUS ROADS AND PARISHES STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the roads as detailed in the Schedule below.

SCHEDULE

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATHS MST 1, MST 2 & EST 6A (STONEHOUSE AND STANDISH PARISHES) STROUD DISTRICT

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14,15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpaths MST 1, MST 2 and EST 6A as described in the Schedule below. The closures are necessary for safety reasons as the footpaths run through a construction site.

This temporary closure Order came into force on the 4th December 2019 and it was anticipated that works would be completed by 4th June 2020. However, works have not been completed so a request was made to the Secretary of State for Transport for an extension. The Secretary of State has granted an extension until 4th December 2021 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.

After this date if the closure is still required it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for a further extension of time. Proposed alternative route; There is no proposed alternate route due to the movement of heavy plant back and forth across the construction site. Pedestrian access to properties and emergency access will be maintained for the duration of the works.

The Schedule

Public Footpath MST 1 (Stonehouse) is to be closed from its junction with Public Bridleway MST 4 east-south-east of property known as Oldends Farm and then extends in a generally northerly direction for a distance of approximately 305 metres to the Parish Boundary where it continues as Public Footpath EST 6A (Standish) in the same direction then north-easterly for a distance of approximately 220 metres to its junction with Public Footpath EST 6 north-north-east of property known as Oldends Farm. Part of Public Footpath MST 2 (Stonehouse) is to be closed from its junction with Public Footpath MST 1 (also closed) north-east of property known as Oldends Farm and then extends in a generally north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 287 metres to the east side of the railway line north-east of property known as Oldends Farm. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures and restrictions taking effect. This order can permit the closure and restriction of the roads in any order, or simultaneously as required and it is anticipated all works will be completed by 10th July 2020. EMERGENCY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH MHO 2O (HORSLEY PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council has by this notice closed temporarily under Sections 14,15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath MHO 20 from east of the property known as Bramble Cottage then extends in a generally northerly direction for a distance of approximately 465 metres to west-north-west of the property known as The Old Vicarage. The Public Footpath falls within the Horsley Parish in the Stroud District, Gloucestershire.

The closure is necessary to safeguard the public from an unsafely excavated footpath.

The Public Footpath was originally closed for 21 days by Notice commencing

23rd April 2020. However, as the works to remedy the problem have not

been completed it is necessary to close the Footpath by an Order which will

authorise the closure until 22nd October 2020.

This legal Order will authorise the closure of the public footpath for up to

six months from the date of the first Notice. However, if the problem continues

after this time then it will be necessary to make an application to the

Secretary of State for an extension to the closure

Alternative Routes - There are no alternative routes.
