A three bedroom property requiring modernisation in a unique location with views over farmland.

Once the waiting room and stables for the Bowood Estate, the property was converted and extended to provide an individually designed single storey property in a unique location overlooking farmland.

The property requires modernisation and without doubt offers great potential for a future owner to add their own style and flair.

To enter the property there is an enclosed porch to the front which leads into the hallway. The accommodation comprises of a main living room with large window to the front, central fire place, door to the kitchen and steps up to the garden room, an addition to the property that has created a lovely room in an elevated position overlooking the garden and the view towards the White Horse at Cherhill. The dining room is a good size, with a wide bay window to the front and a fireplace.

The bedrooms are off the hallway and all overlook the front of the property. Bedrooms 2 & 3 share the main bathroom whilst bedroom 1 has a walk through dressing area and ensuite bathroom.

Outside there is an attached single garage, a WC and detached stone outbuilding, which could be converted to a home office, workshop or laundry room. The generous garden is mostly lawn and wraps around the property from the side to the rear. There is a gently sloping area which has been cultivated in the past to provide garden produce for the family. To the rear there are rolling fields and far reaching views.

The property shares the track from the road with the Old Station Masters House and has the benefit of parking besides the halt as well as access over the gravel drive to the garage.

Black Dog Halt is a former railway station on the Chippenham and Calne line in Wiltshire. Originally created in 1863 as a private stop for Lord Lansdowne of Bowood House, it became a public request stop after the formation of British Rail; the halt was closed and demolished in 1965, and today it is part of National Cycle Route.

Calne (1.2 miles ) provides a comprehensive range of amenities including a choice of shops and supermarkets, sports centre with indoor swimming pool, public library, churches and schooling for all age groups. Calne is an expanding north Wiltshire town within easy travelling distance of nearby larger centres which include Chippenham (6 miles) and Swindon (18 miles). Junctions 16 and 17 of the M4 Motorway are both easily accessible from the town, whilst a mainline railway station at Chippenham provides regular services to London Paddington. For those with recreational interests there are golf courses at Chippenham (North Wilts) and Bowood, fishing and walks at Blackland Lakes. There are also the archaeological sites of Avebury Stone Circle, Kennet Long Barrow and Silbury Hill within easy travelling distance.
