Pretty double-fronted Gothic-style Victorian cottage, well situated in the heart of this highly desirable village, with beautiful cottage gardens and off-street parking.

The good-sized entrance hall, with its generous understairs storage cupboard, opens to all the spacious ground floor accommodation. To the right of the hallway is the beautifully presented dual-aspect sitting room, with an attractive stone fireplace with fitted cast-iron wood burner and original casement panelled windows.

Adjacent to the sitting room, is the separate dining/family room, offering a number of uses, with a casement panelled window to the front aspect and fitted recessed alcove shelving.

At the end of the entrance hall, leading to the rear of the cottage, there is a spacious kitchen/breakfast room, with a good range of cottage-style wall and floor cupboard units, with granite work surfaces and part-tiled walls, with space for electric cooker, space for upright fridge freezer and plumbing for washing machine. There is ample space for a good-size table and chairs, with good-quality quarry tiled flooring and door access to the stunning rear gardens.

To the first floor, there are two double bedrooms and a good-sized third bedroom, all serviced by the large family bathroom, comprising a panelled bath with main shower over, low-level WC and pedestal wash-hand basin.

Outside, the stunning front and rear cottage gardens are predominantly laid to lawn, with extensive flower and shrub borders. The front gardens provide access to the front door along the central paved pathway, surrounding by low-level stone walling, opening to the block paved driveway and providing gated access to the rear gardens.

The rear gardens offer a good degree of privacy, backing on to open pastureland, being mainly laid to lawn, and enjoying an abundance of colour from the various bedded flowers and plants. The garden is enclosed by dry-stone walling and fencing and has the advantage of the original stone outbuilding, which could easily be converted into a home office, subject to the usual planning consents.

Littleworth is a pretty village approximately 13 miles west of Oxford and two miles east of Faringdon.

To the north, the land slopes down towards the River Thames, with far-reaching views over the river valley to the Cotswolds; southwards, the view is across the Vale of White Horse to the prehistoric chalk horse itself. The attractive countryside offers a range of footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways including the Thames Path.

There is a 19th century parish church and a 21st century Asian restaurant. The village once formed part of the estates of Oriel College, Oxford; their last remaining holding was the woodland strip that now forms the south-east boundary of Apple Tree Farm.

One mile east is St Hugh's, Carswell, a highly-regarded independent preparatory school.

Two miles east is the market town of Faringdon, which dates back at least to the 12th century. Between the two runs the A420 which links Swindon and Oxford with an invaluable frequent bus service. Swindon, Oxford, Oxford Parkway and Didcot Parkway (Paddington 45 minutes) are all mainline stations within easy reach.

Faringdon's thriving community has amenities such as the Leisure Centre, Library, Faringdon Community College, Junior and Infant schools, The Old Station Nursery, doctors, dentists, vets, a Family Health Centre and three supermarkets. The Tower on Folly Hill was built by Lord Berners in 1935 and affords panoramic views across Berkshire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
