The Property

This Grade II listed home is of late 17th/early 18th century origin, and as the name suggest was formerly stables to the adjacent property. It was largely rebuilt and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries and now provides accommodation arranged over three floors, with period features, and a charming cottage garden. It combines the benefits of 'town-centre' living with a country aspect to the rear, dominated by mature trees.

The Accommodation

The front door leads into a split level hall with wood flooring. Stairs lead off to the first and lower ground floors. On the right is the sitting room, with a brick open fireplace and shelving in the recess to the side. There is an over-stair cupboard and window with country aspect. Next door is a good sized bedroom with under-stair wardrobe and two windows overlooking the garden. On the top floor there is another large bedroom with sloping ceilings and exposed beams. There are built-in wardrobes and cupboards, plus a large dormer window affording tree top views. Leading off is a bathroom with a Velux window. On the lower ground floor is the kitchen with a tiled floor and space for the cooker, washing machine and fridge. There are wall and base cupboards, the gas boiler and further built-in storage. Leading off is a bathroom with a shower over the bath. A door from the kitchen leads to a garden/dining room with bi-fold doors onto the garden and a walk-in storage cupboard off with space for a freezer and the like. A further door in the kitchen leads to a passageway with steps down to a storage area/cellarage and further steps leading up to a larger storage area with a separate door onto the road at the front.

The pretty cottage garden is terraced on two levels with well stocked borders containing a host of assorted shrubs. A flagged path leads through a trellis arch to a lower section which has a good sized storage building with a decked area adjacent, affording complete privacy.

All mains connected. The gas boiler is in the kitchen. Council Tax Band B - £1,644.68 payable for 2021/22. There is no EPC as the cottage is Listed.
