5 The Clock House

Set around a walled courtyard and entered through archway, the original Clock house stable and coach house to Stratton Park were converted into six individual houses in the 1980s. The house has attractive colour washed elevations with inset casement windows under a slate roof.

The accommodation is full of character, high ceilings on the ground floor and a wood effect floor, whilst the first floor is larger as it includes the space over the entrance archway. A panelled front door opens into the entrance hall where a turned staircase rises to the first floor. The understairs cupboard houses the oil-fired boiler which was replaced in the summer of last year. The sitting room/dining room has a working fireplace with a moulded surround and overmantel, fitted cupboards with display and bookshelves on either side, dado rail and French door leading out to a terrace and the partly walled courtyard garden. The kitchen is well fitted with a range of floor cupboards, drawers and wall cupboards, wood effect laminated work surfaces. It has integrated appliances and part tiled walls and a wide rectangular opening directly from the main reception room.

At first floor level on the landing there is access onto a boarded roof space which provides good storage. The main bedroom has built in wardrobe cupboards. The second bedroom is currently being used as a first floor sitting room and there is separate bathroom.

Within the courtyard the house has two designated car parking spaces and can park two further cars directly in front of the house. On the western side there is a very pretty walled and fenced courtyard garden which has a brick terrace. A central area lawned with Astroturf, well stocked beds on either side. The walls are smothered in climbing hydrangea. There are other mature shrubs, a bay tree and a gate leading out of the garden.
