STAFF from a Cotswolds firm of land and property agents and antiques auctioneers will paddle, pedal, and walk to London in a bid to raise £10,000 for childhood bereavement charity Winston's Wish.

The team from Moore Allen & Innocent in Cirencester will cover more than 100 miles in canoes, on bikes, and on foot for their first fundraising triathlon.

Beginning on Friday, June 28, fundraisers will navigate 22 miles of the River Thames and eight locks in two-man canoes from Lechlade to the Oxfordshire town of Farmoor.

Saturday, June 29, will see the team cycle from Farmoor to Walton on Thames in Surrey – a distance of 75 miles, while on Sunday, June 30, the team will walk the 17 miles from Walton on Thames to Leicester Square in the heart of the capital.

Event organiser Roy Bowyer said: "The challenge has been designed so that colleagues of all levels of fitness can join us.

While a diehard core will be undertaking the entire triathlon, others will be joining us for one or two of the events, or for shorter distances.

"We're delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile charity."

Winston's Wish is a national charity based in Cheltenham that supports children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling.

Established in 1992, the charity supports 40,000 bereaved children and young people a year.

Malaney Varaljay-Boyce, head of regional fundraising and events at Winston's Wish, said: “I’d like to extend my sincere gratitude to the associates at Moore Allen & Innocent for taking on such an ambitious triathlon challenge to raise money for Winston’s Wish.

"Their fundraising will enable us to continue helping bereaved children and young people cope with their grief and face the future with confidence and hope.

"On behalf of everyone at Winston’s Wish and all of the children and families we support, thank you.”
