'PRINCE of Grime' Tinchy Stryder visits Stroud this week, for a performance at the Sub Rooms.

Joined by local talent Mark Marks, BRO and DJ Caviar, the show is bound to be a night to remember.

Tinchy started his music career on pirate radio stations in Bow, alongside artists such as Dizzee Rascal and Wiley.

He became one of the first grime MCs to turn underground acclaim into proper mainstream pop success.

In January 2009, Tinchy’s song Take Me Back went to number three in the UK singles charts.

Its follow-up, Number 1, topped the charts for four weeks.

Then, together with soul-singer Dionne Broomfield, he recorded the official torch relay song for the 2012 London Olympics.

Tinchy is one of the leading performers in his field and five years ago was crowned as Britain’s highest-selling solo artist.

Tinchy Stryder is at the Sub Rooms on Friday at 10pm.
