CIRENCESTER-based Eclectic String Band will be presenting a concert of music from around the world, arranged for string orchestra at Kemble Village Hall on Saturday, March 23 at 7.30pm.

The music will include Arabian, Spanish, American, Chinese and English traditional, classical and folk themes. Proceeds of the concert will be donated to the Marie Curie charity. A supper will be provided after the concert.

The Cirencester String Orchestra was formed approximately 15 years ago by Ann Theil and is now known as the Eclectic String Band, to reflect the wide range of music performed.

It has attracted players from most of the towns and villages in Gloucestershire and has grown in size to 27 players.

The orchestra will be conducted by Ann Theil and the leader is Steve Jones.

7-30pm. Tickets will be available at the door at £7 adults, accompanied children free.
