Remembrance Sunday is the second Sunday in November, making time to commemorate all those that gave their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Here is all you need to know about the remembrance services near you this weekend.

Chedworth:

  • Chedworth Royal British Legion will be laying a wreath on the war memorial at Lower Chedworth November 11.
  • A Remembrance Service will be held at St Andrews Church at 10.45 on November 10 followed by a curry lunch by Claire Booth Cooks at the village hall, available for £10 per person.

Cirencester:

  • The parade will be taking place from 11am starting from the Market Place.

Down Ampney:

  • The Archdeacon of Cheltenham will lead the Remembrance Service at All Saints’ Church on Sunday, November 10 at 10.50am.
  • There will be an act of remembrance at the war memorial at 12pm the same day.

Fairford:

  • The Remembrance Day Parade and Service will take place on November 10 in Fairford.
  • Community organisations and those wishing to attend should meet outside Fairford Cricket Club, Park Street at 10am; where the parade will march at 10.15am to St Mary’s Church.
  • After the church service there will be the laying of wreaths at the war memorial, then march to Fairford Market Place before dispersing.

Kempsford/Whelford:

  • Service Of Remembrance will be held on November 10 at Kempsford Church, meet in the churchyard at 10.45am.

Kemble/Somerford/Poole Keynes:

  • The 10am Remembrance Service on Sunday in Kemble church both Standards will again be attending.
  • The usual act of remembrance will follow at the war memorial with the laying of wreaths.
  • Both Somerford Keynes and Poole Keynes will hold Morning Prayer Remembrance at 10.50am.
  • In the evening Kemble and district RBL and W/ S Standards will join the Cheltenham district and others in the town hall for the annual concert and act of remembrance from 7pm.
  • Kemble Primary school children will join all those who care to come along to Kemble war Memorial on Monday, November 11 to pay their respects and to acknowledge the National two minutes silence, please gather there at 10.55am.

Siddington:

  • There will be a Remembrance Service at St Peter’s Church on Sunday, November 10, starting at 6pm, all are welcome.

South Cerney:

  • It is recommended that those attending the annual Service of Remembrance in All Hallow Church Sunday, November 10 should arrive well before the 10.45am start to ensure having a seat.
  • Following the church service there will be a parade of uniformed personnel and members of South Cerney Branch RBL to the war memorial arriving at approximately 11.45am.
  • The roads at the junction of High Street and Broadway Lane will be closed to traffic from approximately 11.45am–12.15pm.

Tetbury:

  • Sunday, November 10 at 2.30pm is the moving and poignant Remembrance Service at St Marys’ Church.
  • Followed by the parade that will march from St Marys’ Church to St Saviour’s Church where wreaths will be laid by 20 or so organisations representing many organisations to lay their wreaths at the War Memorial, honouring the fallen and making sure we never forget.
  • The officers and soldiers of 29 Company The Royal Logistics Corps will be there.
