ACCLAIMED singer/pianist, Jenna Monroe is set to showcase her own classical/popular fusion of Leonard Cohen songs in Bath.

Following performances for Amnesty International in London, Gloucester Cathedral and her sell-out performance at Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre, Jenna is due in Bath at Chapel Arts Centre on Saturday,May 14th.

Stroud-based Jenna will be returning to Bath, having performed in the Pavilion Gardens last September on International Peace Day.

Jenna performs Cohen from a new perspective with piano accompaniments that are original and sublime.

Originally from the United States, Jenna is of mixed Celtic, European and Native American ancestry and has been hailed as "an absolutely mesmerising performer" by the late singer, Marion Montgomery. Avant garde pianist, Keith Tippett, has described her voice as "extraordinarily beautiful".

Formely a classical pianist & singer, Jenna moved effortlessly into jazz, roots and experimental fusion.

Many of Jenna's freedom songs have been recorded and found a permanent home in the 'Women in Jazz' archives in Swansea. "They aren't jazz, but I feel honoured and privileged that they asked to have them. And that my sometimes startling and contemporary interpretations of these classic freedom songs have found a place next to the work of the great jazz divas of this country," said Jenna.
