Residents show their opposition to the plans for 140 houses on Baxter's Field off Summer Street, Stroud during a recent site visit by SDC's development control committee
THE hugely controversial application to build 140 houses at Baxter's Field, Stroud was rejected this evening.
Members of Stroud District Council's planning committee unanimously rejected the proposals.
The plans attracted strong opposition with campaigners claiming the development was unnecessary and would spoil views of the Slad Valley - immortalised by Laurie Lee in Cider With Rosie.
