There is plenty happening on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway as summer fades into Autumn.
The steam and heritage diesel railway, which operates trains between Cheltenham Racecourse, Gotherington, Winchcombe, Toddington and Laverton, has two busy weekends coming up: * Over the weekend of 14-15 September, the railway’s Autumn Steam and Ale real ale festival takes place at Winchcombe station, when around two dozen beers and some ciders will be on offer * Over the weekend of 21-22 September ‘Thomas and Friends’ descend on the railway, entertaining youngsters and the young at heart enacting the antics from the late Rev A W Awdry’s famous railway books. 2013 marks 70 years since the first of the book, which feature Thomas the Tank Engine, was published.
