A 23-YEAR-OLD woman has been jailed after hitting a girl on the head with a Smirnoff Ice bottle at Warehouse nightclub, in Stroud.
Emma Cox, of Summer Street, Stroud, was remanded in custody for two weeks on Thursday after a jury convicted her of causing actual bodily harm.
Gloucester Crown Court heard how the victim was dancing in the upstairs bar at Warehouse nightclub on April 8, when Cox poured a bottle of Smirnoff Ice over her head.
There was an altercation, which resulted in Cox hitting the girl with the bottle causing a cut above her left eye, the court heard.
In evidence Cox said the victim had started the incident and she acted in self defence, but the jury took only 42 minutes to convict her after a three day trial.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC decided to give her a custodial sentence after hearing she has four previous convictions for common assault and one for assault causing actual bodily harm.
They include convictions for driving her car into an off duty ambulance worker, assaulting a three-year-old boy and attacking a guard on a train.
