THE DAUGHTERS of businessman Paul Bentley are aiming to raise £3,000 in his memory.

Charlotte, 29 and Harriet Bentley, 24, from Bisley, are in training to compete in the London Triathlon in August to raise money for the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham.

Their dad, a chartered surveyor, passed away after valiantly fighting bladder cancer for 18 months in January aged 61.

The girls aim to raise £3,000 for the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham.

Charlotte said: “Dad spent 18 months valiantly fighting bladder cancer.

“At Christmas we faced a very difficult decision, whether Dad should be cared for at home or in a hospice.

“At first the idea of a hospice sounded scary and alien, but the minute we stepped through the doors of Leckhampton Court we realised we had made the right decision.

“The care was second to none as the atmosphere was calm and reassuring.

“Their support for us as a family was also outstanding.”

Today 18 million people in the UK live with an incurable illness. Last year Sue Ryder helped 16,400 people and their families.
