AUTHOR Clive Dale is continuing to amuse the nation’s young readers with the launch of his third book.

Retired IT specialist Mr Dale, from Cashes Green, has published his third story for younger readers, with each story having a moral.

Ollie the Onion features one of a number of onions who aren’t popular with the other vegetables in the garden.

The moral is ‘be your best, and don’t give in to bullying’, as the story follows how Ollie and his onion pals cope with unkind remarks.

The book is written for children aged from five to nine, although it can be read by all ages, especially as a discussion aid for groups.

Mr Dale, whose next work will feature Clive The Magic Camel, hero of his first publication, is a regular contributor to the SNJ’s Christian Comment column.

He has been a youth leader for more than 40 years, including 35 years with the Boys’ Brigade, and is also well known as a storyteller, reading his own work and other stories to children and young people in youth organisations, churches and schools.

“This year I’ve read my two earlier books to more than 1,500 children in schools from Hereford to Luton, including Foxmoor and Longney schools,” he said.
