EVERY time a family leaves Stroud Women’s Refuge to make a new life, they are given a special quilt as a parting gift.
The quilts are made by the Chalford Stitchers.
The group hope that the cosiness of handmade patchwork will provide some comfort for the families in the future.
To raise funds for the refuge, and for the Nelson Trust, the stitchers will be selling some of their wares at an event this weekend.
They will be holding a coffee, cake and craft morning at Chalford village hall (next to the Christ Church on A419), from 10am to 1pm.
Knitted, crocheted and stitched textiles wll be for sale and there will be a quilt to be won and a raffle.
