A LONE woman was left shaken when two people followed her to a petrol station in Nailsworth and attempted to break in to her car.

The incident happened at the Shell garage on the A46 in Nailsworth at around 8.10pm on Monday.

As she pulled in to the garage after leaving work, the woman noticed the pair, who she believes were a couple, walking towards Stroud.

"I had my bag in the back footwell and reached into it for my purse, on turning to get out of my car the couple had walked back and the woman was staring at me through my window," the woman wrote on the Nailsworth Chat and Information Facebook page.

"I put my hands up gesturing to what she wanted, she just stared at me then I noticed in my mirror that the man was trying to open my driver side passenger door.

"I immediately drove away turning right and they were standing in the middle of the road trying to stop the traffic."

Police are investigating the incident, which left the woman 'shaken.'

A spokesman for the Gloucestershire force said: "A woman was attempting to drive into the petrol station when two people stood in the middle of the road obstructing her. They then moved and the driver managed to park at the pumps.

"The man and woman followed her and tried to open the car doors but were unsuccessful as they were locked. The victim was shaken by the incident and left the petrol station.

"The woman is described as Asian, wearing a long fawn coloured coat."
