A PROTEST group from Stroud confronted Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg outside an event he was speaking at in Cheltenham on Saturday.

Stroud Red Shed protested alongside activists at the Cheltenham Literature Festival to highlight their opposition to Mr Rees-Mogg’s views and recent comments.

Activist Lizzie Fletcher said: “We tried to get him to answer our questions about his remarks concerning state education, food banks and his investment in abortion pills.

“But of course he has been through the Eton school of aristocratic charm, so he skirted around the issues and was quick to walk away before we could rebuff his replies.”
