CONGESTION woes have returned to Cainscross in Stroud once again.
Roadworks earlier this week, particularly on Thursday, saw Stroud come to a standstill with tailbacks stretching all the way back to the M5 and an hour in delays.
These roadworks, on Westward Road close to the Cainscross roundabout, were being conducted by Severn Trent Water.
Severn Trent are once again leading roadworks in Westward Road, though this time around the Cainscross roundabout has not been limited to one lane - which is what was compounding congestion earlier this week.
The roadworks are for repair work on a water leak, with temporary traffic lights in place on Westward Road.
On Severn Trent's website, the company state: "We're sorry it's taken longer than we'd planned to fix this.
"We're working hard to make sure this is done as quickly as possible."
As it stands, the work is scheduled to finish today.
Congestion is building down from the Cainscross roundabout along Westward Road and Dudbridge.
Roadworks on Bath Road past The Clothiers Arms are also causing traffic to build, these are believed to be BT works and scheduled to end tomorrow.
This is causing buildup down towards Wallbridge and up towards the Golden Cross junction.
