THE poppy display in Nailsworth town centre is a truly admirable tribute from members of the community.
Around 7,000 poppies were knitted by people of all ages in the surrounding area, and what a tribute they have a helped create.
Congratulations must go to Margaret Marshall, along with Jane Luff and Bob Warner, who have drawn all eyes to Nailsworth in real style.
Every single person involved with the project deserves a round of applause and a pat on the back.
Forest Green may be home to the ‘little club on the hill’ but the area is truly home to an astounding amount of fervour.
Each year we rally to honour fallen troops on Remembrance Sunday but this showstopper will surely live long in the memory and lays down the marker for both the power of community spirit and the intensity with which we celebrate the service of our armed forces.
We would like to lay down the marker for anyone who can spare the time to visit this tribute, spend a few minutes, reflect, don’t look at your phone, be a couple minutes late for your meeting, take the kids, bring your loved ones - and soak it all in.
We shall remember them.
