STROUD'S first vegan fair, which took place at the Subscription Rooms on Saturday, is being hailed as a 'huge success' by everyone involved.

The inaugural event, which featured dozens of companies and organisations, exceeded all expectations as over 1,500 visitors turned out to sample the meat-free products on offer.
Tubby Toms, whose hot sauces are world famous, were another popular exhibitor on the day
Event organiser, Daisy Botha said: "We're blown away but the huge success of the event, and overwhelmed by the reponse from everyone.
"We know that many of the traders actually sold out of their products, and it was fantastic to see town councillors, our MP David Drew and Ecotricity owner Dale Vince at the fair too," she continued.

Crowds poured into the historic venue to sample delicious vegan food and browse through vegan products lovingly made by local independent producers.
It wasn't just vegan food that was on offer, other fantastic products celebrating veganism were available too
Although many visitors spent time browsing over 30 stalls in the ballroom, there was also a selection of delicious hot food available for hungry shoppers to takeaway from the Sub Rooms forecourt.

Event organisers are hoping that the fair will be a regular addition to Stroud's calendar and are considering putting another event on this Summer.
