THE southbound side of the M5 motorway has been completely closed following a crash involving six vehicles, including a lorry.
Emergency services attended the scene of the crash near the Stroud junction at around 6am this morning.
Several people have been taken to hospital but none are believed to be seriously injured.
Traffic was being diverted up the sliproads at the junction around the crash.
All lanes were reopened at around 8.50am but traffic is still extremely heavy and queuing back as far as Gloucester Services.
There is also heavy traffic on the A46 Painswick Road due to roadworks and temporary traffic lights.
Police are warning drivers to take care on the roads.
Police are at the scene of a multi vehicle RTC at junction 13 M5 southbound. 2 Lanes are closed. Please avoid this area if possible, and remember to drive carefully in these icy conditions. #drivesafe pic.twitter.com/Z5N9MjIaXn
