SYSUMS Barbers who have been at the heart for the Stroud community for nearly 50 years, can now boast three generations at the chairs.

Tim Sysums, who established the popular barber shop in Gloucester Street in 1974, has built a reputation for friendly, professional service, a tradition that his son Craig, and grandson Dan are happy to continue.

Grandfather, son Craig and the newest addition as of last year, 19-year-old grandson Dan work across shops in Thornbury and Stonehouse, as well as the original Stroud shop.

Between them it is estimated that they have cropped and shaved in excess of 60,000 customers between them.

Dan credits his grandfather's hard work for the success of the family business, he said: "He works every day across one of the shops and always checks in to see how we're doing.

"It's great, I love working here, you meet so many interesting people," he explained.

Despite rarely giving his scissors a break over the past five decades the indefatigable Tim Sysum will undoubtedly be ensuring that the gentlemen of Gloucestershire will look their clean shaven best for years to come.
