PERRY Bishop and Chambers estate agents in Stroud has chosen Meningitis Now as their charity of the year.

The partnership, which began last month, will see the branch make a donation from every property sold this year.

Previously the company's Nailsworth office raised over £3,500 Longfield Hospice, over an 18 month period after the charity was chosen as their charitable partner.

An independent agent, the property company has been active in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire for nearly two decades, but opened the Stroud brand in London Road, last September.

Additionally team members at the branch completed the charity's annual 21 mile ‘Five Valley’s Walk’, raising £1000 in the process.

Stroud branch manager, Allison-Jayne Smith explained why they had chosen the charity as their partner, she said: “We had no hesitation in deciding which charity we wanted to support when we opened an office in the town.

“Meningitis Now has helped to address this terrible disease on both a local and national level, and are instrumental in pushing for preventative measures, as well as providing assistance for those who have been affected by meningitis," she explained.

Harry Gardner, corporate account executive at Meningitis Now Harry Gardner, explained the value of their support: “We are so excited that Perry Bishop and Chambers have chosen us as their charity of the year.

“Their support really is invaluable, and will help us to continue our work raising awareness of meningitis and supporting families and individuals who have been affected by this terrible disease.”

“We look forward to working closely with the Stroud team and welcoming them to the Five Valleys Walk again this year.”
