Stroud’s St Laurence church will be the setting of an album launch and a harmony singing workshop in May.

Susie Ro will be performing tracks from her new album ‘Song of a Thousand Leaves’ on May 26 from 7.30pm to 11pm, and then leading a workshop the following afternoon from 2pm to 5pm.

She describes album as weaving threads of music from across the world into 12 soulful, free-flowing acoustic songs.

She’ll be joined by Omer Makessa for her concert, master percussionist, experienced performer, singer and songwriter from Martinique in the Caribbean.

The event is being organised by Stroud Sacred Music Festival, whose websites says it “promotes unity and peace ... by celebrating the power music has in bringing people together and breaking down boundaries.”
