Residents of a retirement home in Minchinhampton received a royal visitor on Monday: Her Royal Highness Princess Anne.

The Queen’s daughter came to see several new flats at Stuart Court, a former Victorian rectory and now an award-winning private estate for retirees.

After arriving in a Range Rover - driven by herself - the Princess Royal greeted local dignitaries and the managers of Stuart Court.

She then took a tour of one of the new flats, before meeting residents of the home who were enjoying a garden party in a marquee on the estate’s lawn.
