Two men have been arrested after a woman was assaulted in Dursley last night.
Shortly after midnight officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary responded to a report of a man being seen with a knife in Parsonage Street.
A woman was located nearby and was found to have suffered a knife wound to her hand.
The injury is not believed to be serious and the woman received appropriate medical attention.
The offender left the scene but a police search involving helicopters resulted in two men being arrested in the Chippenham area of Wiltshire.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and a 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both are in custody awaiting questioning.
Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 8 of 12 June.
