PAINSWICK'S luxurious retirement village has appointed an experienced Stroud-born village manager.

Stephen Griffin who has become manager at Richmond Painswick, part of Bupa, seeks to head-up the company's village and care home located in the Stroud Road.

After spending much of his life in the area, Mr Griffin outlined his hopes for the care home.

"My personal motivation is to provide excellent customer care, and I’m delighted to have joined Richmond Painswick," said Mr Griffin.

"We have a truly professional and loyal team of colleagues who go the extra mile every day to deliver residents with personable and professional care."

Well established within the Painswick community, Richmond Painswick offers a collection of Cotswold stone properties designed to blend well with the areas style.

The facilities include a wellness spa with three treatment rooms, a large swimming pool, sauna, steam room and a fully-equipped gymnasium.

Additionally, the care home provides 24 hour dementia support and care as well as a restaurant on par with that of a hotel.

In the future, Stephen hopes to share his passion for music with residents at the village after playing the piano and church organ for several years at Saint Mathews Church in Cainscross.

"I have been very fortunate to have worked for some great organisations both within the community and nationally," added Mr Griffin.

"There’s nowhere quite like the Cotswolds and driving the short distance to work every day reminds me of what a beautiful part of the country we live in."
