THERE is little more than a week remaining before nominations close for the Pride of the Cotswolds Awards 2018.

So don’t waste a minute in taking this golden opportunity to single out an individual or organisation you think is deserving of praise.

Our awards include categories that take in a broad sweep of our communities, such as Teacher of the Year, School of the Year, and Good Neighbour of the Year.

We have Spirit of Youth, Community Project and Community Project awards, and we aim to recognise exemplary contributions in the Health Sector, Public Sector and Sport.

Anyone person or organisation within the circulation area of the Stroud News and Journal, Gloucestershire Gazette series and Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard is eligible.

It is so easy to put someone forward for an award. You can view our full list of categories and enter your nominations online at www.stroudnewsandjournal.co.uk/awards/prideofthecotswolds.

The main sponsor for our awards is Ecotricity, the Stroud-based sustainable energy company headed up by Dale Vince, who is chairman of Forest Green Rovers Football Club.

The firm heads up an impressive line-up of backers that includes innovative engineering firm Renishaw, the Bathurst Estate and Woodchester Valley winery and vineyard.

The awards will be presented in a ceremony on Thursday, September 20, at Forest Green Rovers' New Lawn stadium, an exciting venue that has become almost as famous for its exceptional vegan cuisine as its on-the-field achievements.

But before the big night itself our independent judging panel will sift through your nominations and identify those with the qualities they feel best match the award category criteria.

They will make their decision based on the content of the nomination rather than the number of nominations received.

Join us in applauding those who contribute so much for others in the Cotswolds! Nominations close on Friday, August 10.
