PUBLIC SECTOR WINNER: OLLIE PHIPPS

COMMUNITY engagement manager Ollie took to the stage to rapturous applause to receive his award in recognition of his role working with the Malmesbury community for Wiltshire Council.

Ollie, pictured with Newsquest Gloucestershire managing director Julia Lancett, goes out of his way to help people, organising or participating in community events outside of work.

The people that he works with describe him as dependable and efficient, and his positive attitude, hard work and efficiency have helped to bring numerous projects to fruition. His commitment to working with the people of Malmesbury means the town now has a community centre.

Many fantastic activities now take place in the venue and people of all ages can enjoy dance, exercise and martial arts classes; parents can join baby and toddler groups and so many other groups and organisations use the space to bring people together.

Ollie loves people, and his work hard to support a rural community is a shining example of what someone in the public sector can achieve.
