TEACHER OF THE YEAR WINNER: EVE MALLON

EVE, a teacher at Stone with Woodford Primary School in Berkeley, won her award as a teacher who “really has so much time and energy for each and every child, encourages the kids to go above and beyond and just has kindness in abundance”.

Being a younger teacher, some of the children say that she is like a really lovely big sister, and that they could tell her anything.

They really relate to her and find her so approachable. Her teaching style appears to accommodate each child. She really does bring out the best in the children.

When Eve accepted her award she paid tribute to the school and her colleagues saying that “they inspired her to give all the extra time to the pupils that they need”.

She said that before she started teaching she never would have known how much she would love the job, and her drive to ensure that the children in her care “believe that there is nothing that they can’t do, they just might not be able to do it yet.”
