NINETIES hip-hop trailblazers Arrested Development are set to perform in Stroud next month.

Since 1991 the band have championed colourful sounds while spreading a message of consciousness around the globe.

On November 10 the collective will be bringing that message to Stroud Subscription Rooms for an anticipated sell-out performance.

Aside from numerous awards, including greatest hip-hop artists of all time (VH-1) and two MTV awards, their song Tennessee was voted one of the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

AD’s hit song “Mr. Wendal“ brought much needed attention to the plight of the homeless and the group gave half of that singles royalties to the National Coalition of the Homeless.

Additionally their dance smash, “People Everyday” addresses the tension between ignorance & consciousness, while paying homage to Sly & the Family Stone.

Despite using their platform to enlighten and inform their audiences on topics which many will not have been aware of, the band still manages to ensure that people of all backgrounds can relate to their musical message.

Arrested Development, 8 pm, November 10 at Subscription Rooms, George St, GL5 1AE.

Tickets from £19.50, for more information and booking visit subscriptionrooms.org.uk
