ONE of the most exciting comedians currently performing on the UK and international circuit will be coming to Stroud this weekend as CrazyBird Comedy Club teams up with one of the biggest venues in town.

On Sunday, October 7, Stroud will welcome Nathan Caton who the Guardian described as: "laidback, on-the-nose material, chopping down fools of all colours, both in day-to-day life and in the media".

Caton is one of the most exciting young comedians on the scene.

Gigging since the tender age of 19, over the last decade he has established himself both as a circuit headliner, and a name on TV and radio, having performed on Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and Russell Howards Good News to name a few.

Within his first few years on stage, he had picked up various accolades and coveted plaudits including the Chortle Student Comic of the Year award and Broadcast Hotshot and written and starred in a pilot for Paramount Comedy, The Nathan Caton Show.

Since then Caton has gone from strength to strength, wowing audiences at comedy clubs up and down the UK, and on his numerous TV and radio appearances, with his delightfully charming blend of personal and political comedy.

Supporting Nathan will be Spaniard/Welshman Ignacio Lopez who has been performing stand-up in English for five years.

Splitting his time between Spain and the UK, Lopez has become a much demanded opener, closer and mc, entertaining with his unique brand of sarcastic observations and witty lines.

Lopez offers audiences a taste of what it's like to be the outsider - sometimes combining music and comedy, parodying famous songs to show cultural differences with hilarious results.

Following Ignacio will be the talented Aaron Simmonds.

Aaron has been trying to stand up for 25 years. Luckily, he can do comedy even if he can't do the standing up.

He has a unique perspective on life, usually of people's belly buttons. He's greatest influences are: Nelson Mandela, Muhammed Ali and Barry Chuckle!

A comic who is going places, as long as those places have wheelchair access. Aaron comes with good pedigree as he made the final of BBC’s New Comedy Award in 2017.

The show as always will be expertly compered by The CrazyBird Comedy Club’s fantastic resident MC, the inimitable Geoff Whiting, who by now needs no introduction.

Doors and bar open at 7pm, show starts at 8.15pm. Over 18s only – acts subject to change

Tickets are £15 and are available from Trading Post Records, Stroud or online via seetickets.com
