This year’s incredible Stroud Half Marathon saw competitors race through the streets and stunning countryside around the district for the 37th time, writes Sarah Watson.

Competitors travelled from all over the world, and just down the road, to enjoy 13 miles in brilliant sunshine, and running clubs from across Gloucestershire turned out in force to complete the course.

Hundreds of spectators lined the route, and more than 100 volunteers ensured that the race went off without a hitch – allowing for a 15 minute delay to the start while crucial road safety checks were completed.

Thousands of pounds will have been raised for charities in one morning, and the anticipate donations are expected to run into tens of thousands by the end of today.

Well done to all the runners, spectators and volunteers who made today happen - you should all feel very proud of yourselves.
