COTSWOLD Canal's will open a visitor centre inside a pub near Cirencester later this month.

A cosy corner of the Tunnel House Inn will house the pop-up centre between noon and 10pm on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18.

Volunteers from the UK's largest canal restoration charity will be on hand to share their knowledge of the history, heritage and future of Cotswold Canals - visitors will also be able to ask questions about future restoration projects.

As well as this, those who wish to learn more about the restoration of the canals can enjoy log fires, food, well-kept ales and stunning Cotswold countryside.

There may even be a chance to catch volunteers at work - as an easterly walk along the towpath towards Coates Roundhouse provides a view to the portal of Sapperton Tunnel.

Walkers will have every chance to spot maintenance volunteers along the way.

The Tunnel House Inn can be found in Tarlton Road, Coates near Cirencester.
