An elderly dog who bolted after being scared by a firework in Ebley yesterday, has been found safe and well.

Yesterday afternoon the owners of the 11 year old labrador cross were walking her in Victory Park, Ebley, near Stroud, when a firework went off, causing her to run off in a panic.

But this morning much-loved family pet  Misty was found hiding in a garden near the park and came running as soon as she heard her owners' calls.

The labrador crossed with a springer spaniel, had been missing over night and the family were desperate to get her home.

"She heard me and her mum talking and bolted out of a garden near Victory Park," one of the people helping with the search said.

"She ran straight to her mum for cuddles."

Misty lives in Whiteshill and will now be taken home for food and cuddles.

Thank you to everyone who shared this post and helped look for Misty.
