Police would like to thank a member of the public after their assistance with a welfare incident in Stroud yesterday morning.
The man helped officers deal with the situation after a woman was reported to be on a bridge.
Fortunately, they were a mental health worker, so they helped officers engage with the female.
A spokesperson from Gloucestershire Police said: "We have kept the details of this incident vague due to its sensitive nature and to protect the female concerned.
"She is now receiving the appropriate support."
Officers who attended want to thank the man after he stayed and helped them deal with the incident.
They did not get his details at the time, but his stopping to assist was appreciated.
