A TALENTED young singer from Cirencester has been awarded a place in the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
Eleanor Roe, 12, who is a pupil at Stroud High School and lives in Stratton, has ambitions to become an opera singer and is currently working towards her grade 7 singing exam having passed all the previous 6 grades with Distinction.
Over a thousand children from all over Britain audition every year for a place in the National Youth Choir and competition for places is fierce.
The Choir frequently perform at the Royal Albert Hall.
Eleanor is a frequent prize winner in the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts and also appears regularly in productions with MJ-UK Music and Arts in Cirencester.
Last year she took part in the Magic Flute with Longborough Festival Opera, a professional opera company near Stow in the Wold.
Eleanor is taught singing by her mother Linda, a former opera singer.
