IT has now been a week since John Hawkins was reported missing from his home in Lymm.

The 51-year-old left home in the early hours of Wednesday, December 12, and was then seen at several locations in north Wales throughout the following day.

His Mitsubishi 4x4 car was found burnt out on moorland nearby two days later.

This is what the police know so far about John Hawkins’ disappearance, a week since he was last seen.

Where and when has John Hawkins been seen since his disappearance?

On the morning of Wednesday, December 12, John Hawkins left his home in Lymm in the early hours.

Later that morning, he is seen travelling through the Corwen and Dolgellau area of north Wales in his Mitsubishi L200 Warrior 4x4.

That afternoon, the last confirmed sighting of Mr Hawkins is recorded.

He was seen driving in Bala at around 1pm.

What happened to his car?

At midday on Friday, December 14, Cheshire Police issued an appeal for help from members of the public over John Hawkins’ whereabouts.

The same day, his car is found burnt out on the Denbigh Moors – near to Bylchau, Conway.

How far apart are the locations where John Hawkins was sighted?

Google Maps records the quickest route between Lymm and Corwen, north Wales, as being 56 miles and having a travel time of around one hour and 15 minutes.

Dolgellau is then another 45 minutes away, 30 miles west of Corwen.

Bala, where John Hawkins was seen at around 1pm last Wednesday, is 27 miles north west of Dolgellau – 18 miles away, on the route back to Corwen.

Bylchau, where his car was found burnt out on Friday, is another half hour north of Bala at a distance of 21 miles away.

The police search

Cheshire Police and North Wales Police have both been working to find John Hawkins, due to him going missing from the former area and being last sighted in the latter.

Specialist teams have been searching for Mr Hawkins, but he has not yet been located.

North Wales Police inspector James Keene said: “Specialists have undertaken an extensive search of the area where John’s vehicle was found, but currently he has not been located.

“We are concerned for his welfare and the search for John remains ongoing – we are appealing to John himself and anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts to contact us.”

Cheshire Police inspector Stuart Williams had earlier said: “Extensive enquiries to locate John are ongoing, and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“I appeal to anyone who has spoken to John since he drove from his home in Lymm in the early hours of Wednesday, December 12, to contact us.

“The same goes for anyone who believes they may have seen John, his Mitsubishi L200 Warrior 4x4 car or has any information regarding his whereabouts.

“If you see the car or someone who looks like John in the north Wales area or anywhere else please get in touch.”

What does John Hawkins look like and what was he wearing?

Mr Hawkins is described as being white, around 6ft 2ins, of medium build with brown hair and brown eyes.

It is believed that he is wearing blue and white Adidas trainers, dirty dark blue jeans and a dark-coloured Superdry hoodie with a blue logo on the front.

He may also have been wearing a black Trespass wax jacket with a thin silver trim on the chest and a black New York Yankees cap with a frayed peak.
