THE thriving South Cerney Art Group will be hosting one of its Painting Days in the Village Hall on Saturday, January 26 10am-4pm.

Cost for full day is £3 for members and £6 for non members plus £1 each for tea, coffee and biscuits. As usual, those attending can either “do their own thing” or join in the Workshop which will be a taster session using Acrylics.

Canvas, basic paints, brushes, palette and water pots will be provided at an extra cost of £3 or you can bring your own if you prefer. For more information or to book a space call Janet on 01285 860579 or Margaret 01285 861369.

Please note that the Art Group does not resume its weekly evening sessions until Monday 4th February at 7pm until 9pm. New members always welcomed.

RECYCLE your real Christmas trees by taking them to the composting site at the Upper Up playing field and leave them in the large reception bay marked woody stuff. They will be shredded and turned into good quality garden compost.

COFFEEPOT will be open from 10am on Saturday, January 19 in the United Church in Clark’s Hay serving coffee and tea with an excellent selection of cakes, scones and toasted teacakes. No charge - donations only with all proceeds to this year’s charity, Gloucestershire Young Carers (Cirencester Branch).

In December last Coffeepot presented a cheque for £2,100 to last year’s charity, the Cirencester Opportunity Group.

THE football and cricket clubs are holding a joint fund raising event at the Cotswold Hoburne featuring The Mark Walby Band and disco on Saturday, February 2 from 7pm-1am.
