The following is taken from Gerb's column from this week's SNJ (Wed 16).

We are approaching something of the norm this Saturday with a healthy fifty odd stallholders coming to sell their wares.

The biggest surprise for customers may well be the return of Raclette Raclette after six months away.

The street food stall par excellence combines local potatoes and charcuterie with alpine French cheese to create a delicious hot meal which was always a popular choice; although not so during that long hot summer apparently!

On the subject of exotic snacks we also have Wednesday Market regular Mo’s Sushi at the market for their regular 3rd Saturday slot and other 3rd Saturday regulars In a Spin, The Happy Gut Hut (kombucha), Hillside Brewery from the Forest of Dean, Severn Spots charcuterie and Bath Soft Cheese are all in attendance.

Weekly stalls The Artisan Baker, with speciality breads, Stroud Smokehouse and Hempen, the organic hemp farmers, all return this week as well as Jonathan Crump cheeses and Godsell’s cheeses and Windrush Valley Goat Dairy.

Nifty Nut Butters are at the market a week earlier than usual and Crow’s Nest are back down in the little nook by Chris’ Shed with delicious soups and curries. Also look out for occasional stalls Skylos dog food and Pascale Stanley Jewellery.

Grow your own project Down to Earth are at the market this week too and will have a wide variety of indigenous fruit bushes and trees for sale at very reasonable prices for anyone looking to grow their own this year.
