WE ARE a dog owning family; we like dogs. However we do not like many of their inconsiderate owners who frequently let their dogs, both large and small foul the pavements with no intention of picking up the mess.

Clearly the owners do this as they do not want the mess in their garden and literally just take their dog out to avoid this.

I frequently have to tip toe through the mess to walk to town and children to school. Chester Street, Victoria Rd and Tower Street seem particularly affected.

We clear the pavements outside our homes.

At this time of year with dark mornings and early dark evenings the problem has escalated, mess has been inadvertently trodden into homes.

Today a dog owner had pulled their dog, leaving a trail of mess, from the pavement down a private front path between two houses to a private door.
