A spectacular collection of jewellery from Beverston Castle near Tetbury, including several vintage pieces by royal jeweller Garrard, will be part of an auction near Stroud.
A Victorian diamond set tiara, 1.75 carat diamond ear studs and a diamond three-stone ring measuring just under 3 carats all make up the late Mrs Rook’s collection, former resident of Beverston.
The 14th-century manor was once part of the great lordship of Berkeley, taken from Roger de Berkeley by king Henry I.
Other key pieces in the lot include a necklace with seven rows of cultured pearls and a diamond flowerhead with its original Garrard case and an art deco double-clip brooch set with sapphires and diamonds along with a matching pair of cluster ear studs.
Chorley’s director and auctioneer Thomas Jenner-Fust said: “The sale will be an extraordinary opportunity for jewellery lovers to buy statement pieces from a beautiful private collection.”
Chorley’s Country House Sale takes places on January 29 and 30 at Prinknash Abbey Park.
