HAS your favourite pub been nominated for the coveted SNJ Pub of the Year award?

With just weeks to go until nominations close, and the final vote set to start to crown the best pub across the district readers are encouraged to get their votes in quick.

Regulars have already put forward The Old Badger Inn in Eastington, and the Ship Inn, Brimscombe, and the Hog at Horsley, Red Lion at Arlingham and Stroud's own Crown and Sceptre in Horns Road too.

All are strong contenders - but there are some notable exceptions too.

Whatever your reason to love your local, let us, and them know.

From the best Sunday roast to the friendliest bar staff, or the warmest open fires, and most dance-worthy live bands - this is your chance to sing the praises of your favourite landlord, and landlady.

Nominations so far have recognised pubs which go the extra mile - from a wide range of bar snacks, to the best gins and wines available from across the Five Valleys.

There's even a recommendation based on the "nice glasses" that drinks are served in!

So if you know of a pub that deserves the coveted Stroud News and Journal Pub of the Year 2019 award to hang pride of place on the wall then get your nominations in quick - we want to hear from the experts - our readers.

All you have to do is complete the nomination form at the bottom of this page and send it to the address shown.

Please note photocopies/scans will NOT be accepted; you must use a form cut out from the newspaper.

Entries must reach the paper's office before midnight February 1, 2019.

The six pubs that receive the most nominations will be shortlisted as finalists with readers then asked to vote for their favourite.

The pub with the most votes will be crowned Pub of the Year at the end of March, and be presented with our coveted trophy and certificate, as well as a special prize.

All six runners up will receive certificates.

Landlords, managers and staff are also free to nominate and vote for their own pubs.

Nominations are open now, so what are you waiting for?
