Rising star Hattie Briggs has been invited to support world-famous singer Alfie Boe on his UK tour.

The theatrical superstar came across Hattie when she was busking at Paddington Station, he was reportedly stunned after he heard her voice.

In a recent BBC Radio London interview with presenter Jo Good, Alfie said “I found her busking at Paddington Station and she’s incredible, she’s very very cool”.

A fan of Alfie Boe since seeing him in Les Misérables a few years ago, Hattie was thrilled when he came up and put money into her guitar case, and even more so when he complimented her voice.

Since 2014 Hattie has played at around 450 gigs, and she has risen to prominence in the folk scene.

After making the decision to drop out of a Russian degree at Oxford University, she has released several EPs, two critically acclaimed albums and had airplay on BBC Radios 1, 2, and 6.

The singer will soon join Alfie as the support artist on his 22 date UK tour which starts on March 17 in Cardiff.

They will finish at The Royal Albert Hall on April 17 - Hattie will perform a selection of songs from her 2018 deluxe Young Runaway album during the tour.
