STUDENTS from a performing arts school in Cirencester have just received the news that they are Guinness world record breakers.

Talented young entertainers from Stagecoach Performing Arts in Cirencester joined thousands of other performers from across the world last July, to participate in a simultaneous performance of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Junior.

Some 73 Stagecoach schools across the UK and abroad, including Germany and Canada, took part, to celebrate a 30-year anniversary for Stagecoach.

The performance of Stagecoach Cirencester took place at Deer Park School.

Independent adjudicators have now verified all the submissions from across the network and confirmed that 73 school performances have secured a new Guinness World Record for ‘the largest number of simultaneous performances of one show’.

Anne Pain, principal of Stagecoach Cirencester, said: “The students are thrilled to receive this news, given the work and preparation that went into masterminding this international event.

"We believe events like these truly encapsulate the Stagecoach ethos of Creative Courage for Life and the success of Cirencester and of the wider network is something the students can be proud of for years to come.”
