A COMMUNITY trust in Tetbury has big plans for the future of the town.

At the Tetbury Area Youth and Community Trust TAYCT AGM held last Friday, March 15, Jo Tancock the project manager gave a very positive report on what they have been doing, Kevin Painter writes.

Plans for the future includes the Youth drop-in sessions Year 7 to end of Year 13 Tuesdays: 5.30-7.30pm at the rear of the Dolphins Hall and again on Fridays: 5.30-7.30pm.

A much-needed service is mentoring - a one to one mentoring service for young people.

If you are interested in being mentored or becoming a mentor, please get in touch by email jo.tancock@tayct.org.uk.

Peter Hodgson was re-elected as chairman and Steve Scott (Scotty)was re-elected as secretary and also treasurer.

Peter told the Wilts and Glos Standard: "We have been running the mentoring scheme for some time, but are looking to expand it. More young people are wanting our help and are asking for it.

"There is an element of careers advice, and we run a job club but life skills is also a key element.

"Our youth drop in sessions also work well."

This is a very small hard-working group. If you would like to find out more or get involved please contact admin@tayct.org.uk or ring 07771 937592.
