TWO women became trapped in their vehicle this morning, after a crash in Stroud.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Brimscombe Hill at 8.27am.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "Both people have been extricated from the vehicle."
Gloucestershire Police said: "We were called shortly before 8.25am today after a collision at Brimscombe Hill.
"A Vauxhall Astra collided with a wall as it travelled down the hill.
"The fire service attended to help free the occupants and the ambulance service attended to treat them.
"A woman who was a passenger has taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries.
"A woman who was driving the car has also suffered serious injuries and will be taken to hospital shortly."
An air ambulance landed on the nearby Brimscombe and Thrupp Football Club pitch to take the female passenger to hospital, but in the end she was taken to Southmead by road.
The road remained closed for several hours until the vehicle could be recovered.
