CIRENCESTER Round Table has used its fundraising clout to help finance the making of the lion puppets that feature in the latest production at the Barn Theatre, The Butterfly Lion.

Every year Cirencester Round Table raises close to £20,000 for local charities and good causes.

Fundraising is at the heart of what they do and their partnership with The Barn Theatre in sponsoring the making of the three lion puppets that are the focus of the show has gone a long way to help create the production that has been garnering five star reviews.

Mathew Stretch, from Cirencester Round Table, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been able to support this fellow Cirencester charity by providing the 'exquisite' puppets that form the centre of the show, and which will be used by youth groups to learn the skills of the puppet master for years to come once the show's run is finished.”

Iwan Lewis, artistic director at The Barn Theatre, said: "As an unsubsidised charity, we greatly appreciate the support we’ve received from the Cirencester Round Table towards the cost of the puppets for this show.

"Support like this is vital to our future plans of providing high quality professional performances and we very much look forward to building a mutually beneficial partnership in the years to come.”
