A SPECIAL charity day in memory of Jack Mitchell took place at Painswick rugby club this weekend.
This year’s Jack Mitchell Memorial Trophy saw Painswick All Stars take on Jack’s former friends and colleagues from 32nd Regiment Royal Artillery.
Throughout the day there were also bouncy castles, face painting, a BBQ, a prize draw raffle and ice cream.
A karaoke and disco closed off the evening.
Jack, 24, who died in February last year, served in Kenya as a signaller for the British Army and funds raised from the memorial day will go to PRFC and two Kenyan charities.
These are the Nanyuki Children’s Charitable Trust, which gives money to deprived children in Kenya, and the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, which runs an animal orphanage in the country.
